Fixed Ready Mix Plants

A Fixed Concrete Ready Mix Plant, also known as a stationary concrete batching plant, is a facility designed to produce ready-mixed concrete in large quantities. It is called “fixed” because it is set up at a specific location and remains stationary throughout its operational life. Here are some advantages of using a fixed concrete ready mix plant:

  1. High Production Capacity: Fixed concrete ready mix plants are designed for high-volume production, making them suitable for large-scale construction projects or consistent supply to multiple construction sites.
  2. Consistent Quality: These plants use computer-controlled systems to ensure precise and consistent mixing ratios, leading to a uniform and high-quality concrete mix.
  3. Reduced Labor Costs: Automation in fixed concrete plants reduces the need for manual labour in the concrete mixing process, resulting in cost savings.
  4. Efficient Material Management: The stationary nature of the plant allows for organized material storage and handling systems, making it easier to manage and utilize various aggregates, cement, and additives.
  5. Customizable Configurations: Fixed concrete plants can be tailored to meet specific project requirements, with options for different mixer types, storage capacities, and additive systems.
  6. Reliable Operation: As these plants are stationary, they are less susceptible to wear and tear, leading to increased reliability and reduced downtime.
  7. Environmental Benefits: The stationary nature of the plant means that it doesn’t require constant transportation of materials, reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  8. Better Control over Concrete Production: Fixed plants allow better control over the concrete production process, enabling adjustments to be made quickly and efficiently to meet changing project demands.
  9. Cost-Effective in the Long Run: While setting up a fixed concrete plant may have higher initial costs compared to mobile plants, its long-term cost-effectiveness comes from its ability to produce large quantities of high-quality concrete consistently.
  10. Compliance with Regulations: Fixed concrete ready mix plants are usually designed to comply with local environmental regulations, safety and SABS standards.

It’s worth noting that while fixed concrete plants offer several advantages, they may not be suitable for all projects. Smaller-scale projects or those with frequently changing locations might benefit more from our mobile concrete batching plants. The choice of the plant type depends on the specific needs and requirements of the construction project and location.

Rockblend Readymix Concrete is manufactured in our following fixed batching plants, each of which have a capacity of 550m3 per day / per plant. That is currently as follows:

Our add on service is the 2 Boom pump trucks with a 36m, 38m reach and also a Stationary pump (Mosselbay with a 120 meter reach).

3 Mobile Ready mix plants that can move around from one site to another, it also dependent on the volume to ensure viability. Our Mobile Batching Plant can be established in 2 day’s and start batching immediately. We can batch 500m3 cubes of ready mix concrete per day. Being on site, our trucks can do very quick turnaround times as the distance is obviously very short.
